Glen Helen Is Live: The Finale Is Finally Doing the Talking
The talking part is over.
Glen Helen is live tonight.
Championship Off-Road’s 2026 finale started its Friday broadcast at 3:00 p.m. Pacific, and the official results page is still showing the Glen Helen event as happening now with results coming in behind the live program.
So we are not going to invent podiums before the organizer posts them.
What we can do is watch what the track is asking from these trucks in real time.
The field is stacked enough that a small problem becomes positions immediately
PRO4 has Travis Pastrana, CJ Greaves, Johnny Greaves, RJ Anderson, Ryan Beat, Adrian Cenni, Mickey Thomas and Jimmy Henderson on the current entry list.
PRO2 has Ken Roczen, Ronnie Anderson, Ryan Beat, Cole Mamer, Ricky Gutierrez, Myan Spaccarelli and more.
That is too much depth to assume a five-second mistake gets handed back later.
Glen Helen rewards trucks that can take repeated vertical load
Short course is not desert racing compressed into a smaller area.
The jumps come closer together. The braking zones repeat faster. The truck has less time to cool and less time to settle before the next hit.
Shock temperature, bump-stop engagement, wheel retention and steering hardware all get worked hard.
The track gets worse while the race gets more important
Ruts grow.
Edges break down.
Landings get chewed up.
What worked in practice can be wrong later in the evening.
The driver and spotter need to update the picture instead of driving the track they remember from the first lap.
PRO4 is a driveline torture test
The series promotes roughly 900-horsepower four-wheel-drive trucks in PRO4.
That means the front end is steering and transmitting torque while the truck is landing, braking and taking side load.
CVs, hubs, steering joints and front differentials do not get an easy life here.
The crew has to inspect the truck like it is already broken
Do not wait for the driver to report a vibration.
Put it in the air. Check hub play. Look at CV boots. Look at the steering. Look for fresh witness marks around suspension mounts. Check wheel hardware. Check cooling debris.
The next round is tomorrow.
A small problem tonight becomes a missed championship opportunity Saturday if nobody catches it.
California has real representation in the field
RJ Anderson is listed from Menifee. Ronnie Anderson from Riverside. Ricky Gutierrez from Garden Grove. Myan Spaccarelli from Simi Valley. Mikey Lawrence from Banning.
The Pro Buggy and supporting-class lists have Southern California names all through them too.
This is not just a national series visiting somebody else’s region.
It is a national field racing in our backyard.
Watch the repairs as much as the race
The fastest truck on the track is obvious.
The better team is sometimes easier to see in the pits.
How quickly do they find damage? How organized are the spares? Does the driver come back with one complaint and the crew knows exactly where to look?
That is championship-level process.
Results are coming, and then we will cover the actual winners
The official results page still has Glen Helen marked “Happening Now” with results coming soon as this article is being published.
That is the correct place to leave it.
We will cover the actual Friday results once the organizer posts them instead of trying to outrun the timing system.
